Integrated Regional Water Management Plan (IRWMP)
The Coachella Valley Regional Water Management Group (CVRWMG) was formed in 2008 for coordinating the water resources planning activities of the five Coachella Valley water purveyors, Coachella Water Authority, Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD), Desert Water Agency, Indio Water Authority and Mission Springs Water District, and for developing an Integrated Regional Water Management Plan (IRWMP). In April, the CVRWMG successfully submitted an application for Region Acceptance to the California Department of Water Resources.
As of Summer 2012, the CVRWMG has completed its initial Plan, has launched implementation of a Disadvantaged Communities Outreach grant, and is preparing implementation of a Regional Conservation Program as well as initiatives to address salt in the Valley and improvements in water quality.
